Loving siblings
It has been hot enough here in the South to be outside and playing in the water. Since it is too early for the pool, Terefech and Declan love to fill up a tub of water and play in it. If Rich is feeling generous, he'll let them play with the hose for awhile and here are the results...

Easter 2011
Every holiday is exciting at our house this year because they are Terefech's first. I have gotten better at explaining the holidays to her, so much better than at first. And, I think, because of that, she really enjoyed the day. She knew what to expect and how things were going to go. She seemed to have little apprehension going into the day and dove right into the activities. The Easter Bunny kind of did it up for Terefech's first Easter, not our usual basket. They loved their gifts! Terefech got a penguin pillow pet which fits her life penguin theme! Declan loved his Lego space shuttle and had to be pulled away to do the egg hunt. So, here is our day...
Yep, that is penguin underwear, one of her best gifts ever I think. Terefech loves penguins!
Lego easter basket to build.
Reading her newest penguin book.
Thrilled with his Lego space shuttle.
A Snoopy book and his favorite page, hunting for the Red Baron.
The hunt begins.
Declan had put an A on one egg and was ecstatic to find it. We came up one egg short. Still don't know where it is....some lucky critter will have a snack tonight.
The Easter Bunny that comes to our house also hides plastic eggs. Terefech had written him a note reminding him that she does not like chocolate so she would prefer something else in the eggs. He obliged with pennies!
Easter at Grandma and Papa's house.
Diligently putting their Lego easter baskets together.
Proud of his creations.
We love Lego at our house!
Happy Easter!

Lego world
Lego is a big part of our world. Declan loves to build sets but he also loves to create his own lego creations. For Terefech, this part of play is a challenge. She doesn't have as many life experiences to draw upon as he does and we have had to work with her to play creatively (this isn't unique to her, just the reality of moving from no toys to lots of toys!). Well, she didn't have any problem with their latest build. They decided to build hospitals. Now, Declan has been to the hospital (last spring break we spent a lovely evening in the ER) but Terefech has never been. But she was all in!
This is Declan's hospital from above.
Declan's waiting room. Think there was a little overflow from the exam rooms (guy on stretcher).

This is her x ray room. Notice the green guy, he isn't doing well.
Terefech's waiting room. Notice the many chairs. Lucky for that guy, he is the only one waiting.
Terefech even has security. Must have listened to Daddy talk about his many visits to the ER as a paramedic.
Declan's CAT scan room. He had to differentiate from the girl who has an x ray room
Declan bought a Lego creator set with Christmas money. Recently he changed it to a new house, the one you see above. He was so proud to have built it on his own!
