Warrior Dash 2012

Rich and his friends Alex, Jill and Dan all ran in the Warrior Dash 2012.  For Rich and Alex, this was their second year of fun in the mud!  The kids and I went out to cheer them on!

T day

Last Wednesday we celebrated T day.  T day is our current name (always subject to change) for the day we got back from Ethiopia and all four of us were together for the first time.  We went out for Ethiopian food and Rita's Italian Ice to honor the day.  Meant to get a picture of Terefech with lots of yummy food but it kept disappearing.  She says it is still her favorite food although she tells all the kids at school chicken and french friends because it is just easier (her words).  Hope someday she will want to tell them Ethiopian.  

 Rich's treat was Ethiopian beer.

 She got dressed up in her Ethiopian top and her flag skirt.  Glad she was proud of where she is from.

Mother's Day Lunch

We celebrated Mother's Day the Saturday before because Rich was working.  My neighbors took pity on me on Sunday and took us to Sonic for lunch!!!  Here are the kids with their favorite neighbor, Mary!

The kids wanted to take me paddle boating on Mother's Day!  Great time was had by all...including the ducks.

 This egret came flying across the lake...amazing sight to see.  He was very stoic.  Wouldn't turn and look at us no matter what we did.

More Terefech's recital

 Terefech was lucky enough to have a few friends and family at the recital to see her play!

 She was nervous but did a great job!  So glad she made it through!  You can see her instructor right behind her taking pictures.  We love Mr. Charles, he is kind, patient, loving and just so enthusiastic about the piano.  He notices when she doesn't practice but doesn't make it horrible.  "I went on vacation last year and I didn't practice once.  Sometimes you don't practice but when you don't, you don't get better."  Terefech likes him and so do we!  

Grandma's birthday and gifts from Texas

Grandma missed her birthday cause she was on the road in Texas.  So we celebrated and she brought us presents.  Yep, that is our children giving their grandmother wine as a birthday present...so proud!
