Our Weekend With Smokey

We were lucky to get Smokey the bunny for a surprise weekend.  He was a bit of a Smokzilla in Tak town, Terefech's Lego world!

 I have to admit, he is the coolest rabbit around.  You can let him hop around the house and take him outside for walks.  Almost a dog...almost.

Triathlon day!

The day dawned beautiful and brisk.  37 degrees when Rich got in the water!

 Pictures are all mixed up...here he is transitioning onto the bike.  He said it was hard to put your clothes on in the changing tent.  Shivering excessively does that to you!

 We spent time at the NC aquarium while Rich was being crazy.  It was all decked out for Halloween.

 It was fun to see him in the different parts of the tri and he did a great job pretending he was feeling super!

 Finish line during the day...

 What we did while we waited for Rich to finish...entertain ourselves.  The kids were troopers...they only started to melt down after hours and hours of waiting.

 This is the finish line at night...proud of our two time Ironman.  He says he is retired, we'll see!

Beach time

It looks beautiful but it was freezing at the beach.  The kids tried to play out there but it was so windy and so cold.  I just stayed curled in a ball the whole time!

 If you look close you can see the sign announcing the triathlong.

 The crazy ones took a dip in the pool.  Hot showers after that!

 We got lucky and Jobie took us out 4 wheelin on the beach.  First time for the kids (and me!).

 Check out that spaghetti and meatball cupcake...yum!  We had desserts from a great bakery in town! 

Big Daddy's trip to the beach

Big Daddy, or Rich as we usually call him, completed an ironman triathlon out in Wilmington, NC.  The Beach to Battleship Ironman to be specific.  It also happened to be my birthday that weekend.  It was a big group, the 4 of us, Alex, the in laws, and a friend from high school, Jobie.  And here is how the weekend started....T was in a party mode!

Rocket Launch

Declan's class made rockets to end their unit in space.  This was launch day.  They launched with a pump and yep that is Rich as the pumper!  Pretty cool...lots of ooooohs and ahhhhhhs!

Halloween

The kids had a parade at school where they had to wear a costume of a character from a book!

 Terefech wore a Pinkalicious costume

 Declan dressed up like The Bad Man, the lead character in a series of books he is writing (working on The Bad Man 3 currently).

 Joined by our neighbor, Mary, or better known as Princess Leia.

 Our other neighbor came as Tom Brady, he got no love in this neighborhood!

 And we ran into Darth Vader in the neighborhood.  His parents were so excited to see the rest of the family!
