Rich's birthday
The kids got Rich his favorite books. We love the books Zen Ties, Zen Shorts and Zen Ghosts. We always check them out from the library and are always sad when they go back. They contain stories from Buddha...sometimes we gain more from them than the kids!
Birthday dessert!
Opening all of his wonderful gifts. These two are always so excited when other people open their gifts!

Declan's art show
This past Tuesday, we had the privilege of attending Declan's art crawl and play. What a spectacular show it was! Here are some of the highlights....
Declan is a declared lover of Jackson Pollack. He loves abstract art and the way that Pollack used all kind of items to create his art. He is soooo excited that on our trip up north this summer, he might get to see an actual Pollack! Above his the class Pollack interpretation. Declan did the middle right bottom just in case you were wondering.
Mrs. Shields, his teacher. We love her and the best part of their performances is that she always does a welcome "speech" and always gets choked up. She loves the kids so much and it shows!
Mystery island...in the method used by Seurat.
Siran...a Picasso interpretation
Worried Scuba Diver...Picasso in his blue period
Loved the horses...they painted over actual pictures. Declan doesn't like it. He is a lover of abstract painting. He doesn't like doing these types of paintings because then people won't understand or realize that he really only wants to do abstract art (yep, that is what he said).
Spider Web Hurricane...Jackson Pollack
Their play was based on the book When Pigasso Met Mootise-very funny! Declan had great expression in reading his lines!
Some of the scenery below...
One of the other kids pieces of art work...titled Declan Licking Ice Cream.

Art Crawl at Corvian
Last week, Terefech's class had their art crawl and artist in me play. The kids put on a fabulous show with all of the fun facts they have learned about artists. Terefech said her lines about George Balanchine (a famous choreographer of the Nutcraker, bet you didn't know that!) perfectly! They sang, danced and showed off their artwork!
The kids painted on the ceiling just like Michelangelo (not really, but they did lay on their backs and paint on the underside of tables!)
2 of Terefech's biggest fans.
Showing off her fresco.
Soap sculpture
Checking out all the great artwork!!! Yep, those are Kadinsky imitations behind us...I know you were thinking it.
Can you guess who that is???

A flat cousin comes to visit..
When a flat cousin comes to visit, you show her all the things you do in Charlotte...
Go to music lessons and yoga
Visit the farmer's market and go to school
She even got to take a trip to Augusta to visit the Ginn family!
UNC Charlotte and the grandparents are important places to visit as well.
And what is coming to Charlotte if you don't go to the race track!
Thanks for coming to visit!
