Just one more post about our trip to Disney World. One of the highlights of our trip was these girls. Well, not really highlight, but they were definitely part of our trip. There were hundreds of 15 year old girls from Brazil and Argentina at our resort. Their trip to Florida was part of their Quinceanera celebration. In Latin American countries, the fifteenth birthday is celebrated as a transition between childhood and young womanhood. This birthday is often celebrated with a party but these girls chose to take this trip instead of have a party-what a great choice! I think they arrived the same day we did because they were all bright and perky, hair done, contacts in, etc. By the time we left, hair was in a ponytail, glasses on and they all looked like they were dragging from all the fun. They were very polite, answered all of our questions and it was kind of fun to see them around...to be honest I was a little sad to say good bye.
While waiting to find out about the car, we spent the day at Downtown Disney. Terefech wanted the picture above so she could re create it with our tinker toys. Declan spent a lot of concentrated time building at the Lego store. I took tons of pictures...what else did I have to do? Well, did help the workers clean up.
So, if you can't tell...it is a race track. The sides are even banked. He built the tower in the middle that keeps track of everyone's place. There is a gas can, a dude in the pits, an entrance and exit gate, even flowers to beautify the stadium (I will admit I contributed that part). He was very proud of his creation and so was I. The best part was he was okay with leaving it....we of course have a ton of pictures so I think that made it better.
Hard to see what this is...It is a dress where the skirt is all the dolls of whoever's dress it is. So this one is Belle's dress.
