Day 2 SNOW

The snowmen survived the night but guess they felt like they needed a little yoga to get them started in the morning!  The kids and I headed out sledding in our neighborhood.  We grabbed the pool inner tube at the last second, right decision!

It was pretty cold (in the low 20s) so we lasted about an hour and then headed home.  By the afternoon, most of it was gone.  A perfect snowy day!

Day 1 SNOWWWWWW!

We had a freak snowstorm!  It flurried a little in the morning...this is the kids trying to catch snowflakes.   I was running around saying get out there, it won't come again!

And then later in the day...this is what it was.  It wasn't supposed to snow and stick so this was totally unexpected!

We worked hard on our snowmen.

We have absolutely no desire to live where it snows regularly but we love a good dusting once a year.  We have fun and are reminded how lucky we are to live in the warm South!

My little yogis!

Enjoying his Valentine gifts

Declan got a book from Grandpa and chocolates from Nana.  Makes for a lovely afternoon for him!

A little neighbor fun

The kids and neighbor, Mary, went and had a little valentine fun making wizard and fairy wands!

Great Wolf Lodge

We had a gift certificate to Great Wolf Lodge and finally found time to use it.  We went at the perfect time.  Kids had a half day of school on a Thursday and were off on Friday.  We knew it was going to be great when there were only about 40 cars in the parking lot!

The kids loved their little Wolf Den!

We had a great time on all the slides and playing in the wave pool.  We were so impressed that Declan went on pretty much everything.  He doesn't like putting his face in the water so this was a big accomplishment.
We headed back to GWL on Sunday to finish playing MagiQuest.  We are now Master Magis!

Lego App

One rainy day I found this app....so much fun!

Random things in our world

Yep, Declan found utensils made from ice...a fork and knife!

Spent their gift cards from Christmas...thanks Uncle E, Kristi and Greyson.

 He yanked that one out!
Super Bowl preparations.  I have taught my children that the Baltimore Ravens are not to be liked.  Sadly, we were not to be the victors!

African Children's Choir

We went to see African Children's Choir at a local church.  We had seen them before, long before Terefech joined our family.  They are an incredible group of children!
The African Children’s Choir is composed of African children, aged 7 to 10 years old. Many have lost one or both parents through the devastation of war, famine and disease. They represent all the children of a continent and they demonstrate the potential of African children to become strong leaders for a better future in their land.
The primary goal of the Choir is to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of the African Children’s Choir Programs. The Choir’s international educational endeavour provides unique training for the children. Once Choir members have completed a concert tour, they will return to their homelands with the tools necessary for bettering their future.

Fun in the mountain snow

We had been talking about going sledding for a long time and finally set off for the mountains to see some snow.  Unfortunately, there hasn't been a lot of that lately so we had to drive a couple of hours.  Thankfully, one of the mountain towns has a city sledding hill.  So we took that sled Declan got from Santa a couple of years ago and had never used out to the hill!

We had a great day and the kids thought it was totally worth it.  They had blast on an icy hill that had huge puddles at the bottom.  A perfect sledding day!

Another day at Discovery Place

Both Terefech and Declan love going to Discovery Place and building!  Why do we have toys?

Terefech and I went to see a 3D movie about sea turtles.  Very cool...the turtles, not us in our 3D glasses.
