Our latest...

We went to the Charlotte Nature Museum with our friends, the Wagners!

An opposum playing dead!

Terefech in the butterfly garden holding a butterfly. Sorry about the steam. It is so hot here that the camera fogs up when you go in and out.

My two favorite people who bug me!

Happy Father's Day to Rich. We got him a new lunch box (I know, wow!). Declan had the great idea to fill it with food Rich liked. So we asked what his favorite food was....cheeseburgers. Since we couldn't put cheeseburgers in, we found a cheeseburger cake. Declan thought it was hilarious!

Discovery Place and boy is it hot!

Today we ventured to Discovery Place, a children's science museum. The two of them had fun. Places like this are interesting to watch Terefech. She definitely observes everyone else for a minute and then dives right in. Sometimes I think she is not sure if she is supposed to think it is fun so she just keeps doing it even though she doesn't like it. As if she is thinking, "well everyone else is doing it, guess I should."

We ended the afternoon outside playing in water. They screamed at each other an awful lot but I am beginning to not hear it. Hopefully, my tolerance will increase.

Fun in the sun!

This is the result of our annual whipped cream pie throwing at my school. My fellow special ed teachers + one student teacher reward the students for putting 100% effort forth on their proficiency test by letting them throw pies at us. Yep, they don't need to pass, just do their best and they get a shot at us...or 3 shots ...or 4 shots if they do their best on all the tests they have to take it. They love it and we admit we have a good time as well. There was extra fun this year since our principal decided to lob water balloons at us from the roof of the school.
Terefech is loving the pool. No fear of putting her face in. She thinks it is great fun to splash, float and generally get crazy in the water!

We have been talking a lot (sorry Mr. Moore) about trains lately so we decided we needed to go ride one. This one is at the local farmers market by our house. It is about a 1 mile track and it is free! Terefech was a little disappointed that it was a little train (the big train track runs right next to it so she was hoping for that one). Think we might have to make a trip to the NC Transportation Museum so she can ride a big steam engine.
