Do nothing day...not really

At the end of the January, we had our first official do nothing day.  We actually didn't do nothing because as we discussed, you can't.  You have to breathe so doing nothing isn't actually an option.  There were no chores, no technology besides the phone (and the calls had to be short), nothing that had to be done.  Since this was Declan's idea, he was the mayor of Do Nothing Day and things had to be approved by him.  Lucky for us, the weather was unusually warm so we spent much of the day lounging outside while the kids played.

Enjoying french toast to start the day.

Yep, there was lots of silliness going on...tying up Daddy was great fun for the kids.

 Enjoying buna penguin

Waffles for dinner by candlelight...they were in heaven.

Declan invented his own lego game that we have been playing for months.  Yep, I won!!!

It was a great success and we look forward to the next one.  It was a great experience with nothing to focus on but each other.  For us, giving up the technology wasn't a big deal but not doing things around the house was hard.  We enjoyed being together and the kids having some say so and control over our day.  They thought it was incredible and want to do it all the time!
