D.C. day 1 part 2

One of the things that is cool about D.C. is that there are so many memorials that you often run into them and you are happily surprised when you do.  This is a memorial to the Japanese, both those kept in internment camps and those that fought in WWII.  The kids have read a bit about this so was a great connection.

East Gallery of the National Gallery of Art.  We went to this one because the kids have studies many of the artists in school.

Jackson Pollock is Declan's favorite artist so always amazing to see his works in person.
 Another Pollock...I love this one.
T thought this piano was really cool.
This room was filled with mobiles by this artist???  We really liked the room and stayed their for awhile.  The entertaining part was the other family in the room kept crossing the alarm barriers and setting off the alarms.

We all found this artist amazing...these are paintings.  Terefech just stood in front of the man and said there was no way that it was a painting.
 Riding the moving escalator underground.

We also ran into the Taft memorial...the source of bell ringing we had been hearing.
