Camping Huntington Beach State Park

We spent a weekend camping at Huntington Beach State Park.  We camped about 100 yards from the beach.  It was a great spot, great campsite but the weather was not so great.  We had hoped to be on the beach playing and swimming but the winds created a sandblast situation.  We had fun anyway.  There is a nature center and a home built by the Huntingtons to visit.

There are lots of alligators in the park.  Fun to keep an eye out for them!  Our friend Jobie lives close by so he came over and took the kids and Rich out clamming.  I decided to stay back with Kristen as the water was super cold, the winds were high and the tide never really went out so you were waist deep at some points.  The kids loved it!

Rich is fascinated by VW campers so we took pictures whenever we could.

Our new giant tent, made for 9 but sleeps 4 great!

We had so much fun and can't wait for our next camping adventure...the mountains!
